As well as adding support for various RAW formats to the previous JPEG / PNG / TIFF ones, it did indeed include the noise reduction and optional (but on by default) face enhancement and optional (and off by default) enlarging eyes. I quickly paid for the upgrade to version 3.0, which had been released a couple of months earlier.
